The Azerbaijan-America Alliance of Organizations (AAAO) held its regular meeting in New York City, bringing together Alliance members along with Salhat Abbasova, Head of Department at the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Javid Ismayilov, a representative of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations.

During the meeting, a report on the Alliance’s activities for 2024–2025 was presented, followed by discussions on organizational structure and governance. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation among Azerbaijani diaspora organizations across the United States, as well as expanding joint initiatives and defining the Alliance’s future priorities.

Subsequently, new members and leadership were elected through an internal vote, forming the updated composition of the Alliance. Narqiz Aliyarova was elected President, Adika Iqbal as Vice President, Nigar ShikhSafiyeva as Secretary, and Nurlan Shukurlu as Treasurer.

The newly elected board подчеркнул that enhancing transparency, ensuring sustainability, and increasing active youth engagement will be among the Alliance’s key priorities moving forward.
