As in previous years, a large-scale awareness campaign dedicated to the Khojaly massacre was held in New York City with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized by the Azerbaijan Youth and Sports Association of America.
As part of the campaign, vehicles equipped with LED screens displaying images depicting the трагедy of Khojaly and information about its victims circulated through central streets of New York City. The vehicles stopped at high-traffic public areas and in front of official buildings, delivering key information about one of the most tragic and brutal massacres in recent history to a wide audience.
The route included prominent locations such as Times Square, the headquarters of the United Nations, Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and concluded in front of the building of The New York Times.
Messages displayed on the LED screens included: “Remember, Honor, Reflect – Khojaly 1992,” “34 Years Later, We Remember Every Soul,” “The Tragedy of Khojaly 1992 – The World Must Not Forget,” “Khojaly – Their Courage and Pain Live On,” “We Honor the Victims of Khojaly,” “Do Not Forget the Khojaly Genocide,” “Raise Awareness, Demand Justice, Show Solidarity,” “Together We Remember, Together We Mourn, Together We Stand,” “Justice for Khojaly,” “From Tragedy to Memory – Khojaly Lives On,” “Remember the Innocent, Speak for Justice,” “One Cold Night – Thousands Lost,” and “Even After 34 Years, Khojaly Speaks.”
Residents and visitors were also able to access historical facts and detailed information through QR codes displayed on the screens.
Similar awareness campaigns were held simultaneously in Washington, D.C. and Boston.
