Azerbaijan Youth Day was celebrated in San Jose, USA

A festive event was held on the occasion of Azerbaijan Youth Day on February 2 in San Jose, California, USA.

Members of our community living in San Jose participated in the event, which was supported by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora and organized by the Azerbaijani Cultural Society of Northern California.

At the event, which began with the playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States, the memory of our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

At the event moderated by the teacher of the Azerbaijani language course at the society, Konul Aliyeva, consul of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, Ramiz Dashdamirov, founder of the North Azerbaijan Cultural Society, Hamid Azeri, congratulated the Azerbaijani youth living in Azerbaijan and abroad on the occasion of the holiday and expressed their good wishes. It was brought to attention that this significant historical day is associated with the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, who always treats young people with great attention and care, this sensitive policy was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and young people brought up in the spirit of patriotism played a major role in the liberation of Karabakh from occupation. Endless gratitude was expressed and support was expressed to the victorious Commander-in-Chief, who wrote the name of our independent state and people in history with golden letters as the Victorious State and the Victorious People, in the extraordinary presidential elections of Azerbaijan on February 7.

Then the artists living in the USA – Asif Yusifov, participant of the music competition “Azer Star-2004”, soloist of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra, member of the Norwegian Musicians’ Union, winner of international competitions Shabnam Huseyn and the Azerbaijani Youth Dance Ensemble of the society performed “Azerbaijanim”, “Karabagh”, ” Yasha, my people”, “Arzu”, “Zibeyda”, “Yarımgila”, “Gula-gula, ay khanum” songs, “White flower” and “Yalli” dances were presented.

Within the framework of the event, the head of the Azerbaijan Youth Dance Ensemble, Kyzylgul Alimammadova, answered the parents’ questions.
